I didn't see the original Broadchurch but as soon as I started watching grim, wooden David Tennant and myriad anonymous disinteresing side characters clomping about (I usually like DT quite a bit, so I'm just being a bitch) I reserved the original. I have baseball to keep me warm in the mean time.
