adelagia[Error: unknown template qotd]Oh, neat. Finally a Writer's Block question that I can answer somewhat unboringly. Well, kids, it all started in my senior year of high school... I received a small, white box in the mail one day, the address label typed, and no return address to be found. I wasn't in the habit of receiving anonymous parcels in the mail, and this was like the postal equivalent of the unmarked white van, so I was a little freaked out by it. I left it on the kitchen counter, unopened, giving it a wide berth in case it planned to explode. The house remained unscathed after a few days and there wasn't any ticking coming from it, so I tentatively opened it to find a lone fortune cookie inside. The fortune? "You will go to [Name of the University I Went To]."
Turns out it was a college admissions ploy to make me want to go to there. I don't think they thought the idea completely through because it totally did not help. The scholarship they gave me later did, though. Thanks, School.
