Pickle. I'll be moving out of the country soon, and have to get rid of a lot of stuff so I don't have to pay thousands to ship my stuff over. Recently I took two small boxes to UPS; altogether they weighed in at just under 10 pounds, and it cost me $150.  I about died on the spot.

My dilemma is this: Do I get rid of my HP books?

Yea: I have the hardcover versions of all of them and they're pretty darn hefty, so I'm guessing that a) hauling them to the post office, and b) paying to mail them home will be not the funnest thing in the world.

Nay: I love my books. And fic-wise, they're just so helpful to keep around because sometimes the Lexicon just doesn't go into enough detail. I suppose I could give the books away now, and then collect a new batch after I'm moved, but that also would involve spending money anyway.

Oh, curses.

The post office has flat rate international shipping boxes - up to 20 pounds for $38-$50 depending on the box. You might be able to fit all the HP books into one box...

Love the icon, by the way. :)

And the best part is they give you the boxes for free!!!

Thanks, I love me some David Tennant!

They do?? Crap, I'm so there!

You know, I've never fully recovered from The Girl in the Fireplace.

Yup, they are the priority flat rate boxes :)

Really?

I don't think I'll fully recover from Blink. Seriously, one of the scariest hours in tv, ever. Ranks right up there neck and neck with Buffy's Hush.

I can't handle romantic angst. :)

I probably only watched half of Blink. The rest of the time I sat rocking in a corner, covering my eyes. Steven Moffat writes creepy waaay too well.
