Gasp, could it be? Sunny? Warm? Is spring actually here? I damn well hope so!

... Even if I have stayed inside for a good 90% of the past week. It's because [livejournal.com profile] sarea_okelani lent me her Veronica Mars DVDs and I have been cruising through them over spring break. Just finished S3 yesterday and now I think I'm in VM withdrawal. Must... have... snark. *twitches*

When VM was on the air way back in the day I caught a few episodes here and there but it didn't leave much of an impression; I think I just didn't get it at the time, much like how I watched Spinal Tap back in high school but didn't appreciate it till some years later and is now one of my favourite films of all time. Now I can definitely see why VM is such a beloved series and am really happy they get to finally make their movie. (As a sidenote -- and you may throw garbage at me if you wish because plenty of people seem to want to when I admit this -- but the appeal of The Big Lebowski, which I also watched in high school and then again a few years ago, continues to elude me to this day, big time.)

It's a shame I wasn't in VM fandom back then to enjoy it with other people. It's so sad when there's no one to ship your ship with, though, of course (of course), my ship happens to be a non-canon pairing with excellent chemistry and no hope of ever happening. So if anyone happens to be a Veronica/Weevil shipper, come talk to me! Or write a ton of fic or something! I need more Weevil in my life. I mean, badass kid from the wrong side of the tracks with secret heart of gold? It's like he was created for me. :)))

I didn't start watching VM till after it had finished, and discovered it one day and marathoned it, and now I pretty much rewatch the whole thing about once a year.

*hugs*

I may need to get my own set of DVDs so I can do the same. :)

PS. A little something is on its way to you in the post! ♥

I don't have the DVD's, but you're welcome to share what I do have if you ever want it.

Really? That's so incredibly sweet of you, thank you ♥

That's from 1x02, when Weevil's grandma gets accused of credit card fraud and he takes the fall for it.

I was a megafan during the original airing. I was heartbroken when it was just yanked from us, but I'm ecstatic that we get our movie. I was (and am) a huge Logan/Veronica shipper but there is definitely something between her and Weevil. There was major sexual tension there and somehow I think their sexytimes would have been explosive. Welcome to the fandom. :D

Hello, and thank you! :D I actually thought going into it that I'd be a LoVe shipper, especially since that seems to be 90% of fandom, but Weevil totally got me from the first episode.

There was major sexual tension there and somehow I think their sexytimes would have been explosive.

Amen, sister. :))) That said, I do like LoVe too, what with their epicness and all, and I squeed for real when they first kissed outside that motel. Good job, show.

I think my inner fangirl just about exploded. I loved how he didn't hesitate to come to her rescue. He must have broken every red light and stop sign to get there first. I LoVed it!

That was a great, great moment. *girlish sigh* Hopefully the movie will help those crazy kids sort out their issues once and for all!

Hopefully. And I hope Weevil gets some redeem beyond just the 'former felon' rap he had in Season 3.

Yes, absolutely agree! It's criminal how much he got sidelined in S3. ...See what I did there? Criminal? Oh, I crack myself up. :)))

I have been waiting and waiting and waiting for Veronica/Weevil to happen (I'm still only partway thru Season 2).... looks like I'll be waiting forever (or checking out VM fanfic, heh). You mean they never, ever, EVEN ONCE actually go there? Not even in a fake makeout scene during some undercover gig? Such a waste of chemistry. I love Weevil, but seriously, Veronica could never really do him unless he reformed somehow (which he cannot do and survive, can he?), or unless V embraced the shady side of the law. (So Draco/Ginny.)

I don't like The Big Lebowski much either, despite loving the directors/writers and the main actor and almost all their other works. Go figure.

Also, have you ever checked out Christopher Guest's (of Spinal Tap) other spoofs? My fave, and severely under-appreciated imho, is Waiting for Guffman. Also worth checking out are Best in Show and A Mighty Wind.

Happy Spring Break!

OH NO, I didn't mean to spoil you! I didn't even think about tagging this for spoilers, I'm so sorry!! D:

But also OMGYAY that you ship Veronica/Weevil too! :DDD Yeah, I agree, they wouldn't actually really work in the long-term unless one of them changes something in their lives. I know, it's totally D/G. Lol. Although Sarea thinks Logan fits the Draco bill better what with being a rich, spoiled dude and all... :)

Oh good, I'm glad you agree about The Big Lebowski... Maybe it's just a guy thing. I think the people who gape at me in horror the most about that tend to be guys.

I did see Waiting for Guffman, also in high school, so same problem, I think, and I haven't gotten around to watching it again. I did like Best in Show and A Mighty Wind, though, so I'm guessing I'll be on board with Guffman as well -- when I saw it, it came heavily recommended by my then-boyfriend's ex, so I may have been determined not to like it. Lol.

Spring break, sadly, is over! Started up again today. Boooo!

Eh, no worries about spoilage, I seriously don't mind. If I did mind, I would read NOTHING about VM, and that's just not as much fun!

Logan does have that occasionally psychotic Daddy-in-prison, doesn't he, to add to his Draco score. Hmm. I still think Weevil and Veronica have better physical chemistry, and doesn't Veronica Navarro have a nice ring to it?? :)))

I'm pretty sure I've gushed at you about Waiting for Guffman before, in fact I know I have, so I apologize for repeating myself/boring you! Its humor is pretty deadpan, probably not the thing high-school you would appreciate as much as grad-school you. Or not. Whatever!
