The LJ header is telling me I have a message in my inbox but there is nothing there, and frankly, it's driving me a little bit mad. It doesn't take much, really.

Every time new people start working at my go-to Starbucks, I have to teach them how to charge for my drink. And it's not like I'm one of those double tall nonfat seven pump sugar-free extra-hot caramel macchiato no whip people; my drink is quite literally just tea and steamed milk. Different baristas will charge anywhere between $2.35 and $4.00 for it. I think the lesson here is to stop wasting money on Starbucks tea.

I was about ready to give up on Marvel's Agents of Shield after about three episodes, but this past week's episode was better, so I'll stick around yet. I'm warming up to the tech nerds, but the resident recalcitrant hot agent dude still does nothing for me and the snarky girl with Secret Past and Seemingly Nefarious Purposes (But Not Really) is fun but too paint-by-numbers prototypical. Also going for AOS is that it's one of the only shows I've been watching when it actually airs on TV because that's a good time for me to get on the treadmill, and basically I only have time/energy to exercise once a week, so if I cut it from my viewing schedule I'm liable to never exercise again, lol.

In music news, I'm really liking Olly Murs' Dance with Me Tonight. It's fun and upbeat; reminds me a bit of Bruno Mars' Marry You. When it comes on my iTunes, I literally have to stop everything to sing along.

I had this inbox problem a while ago and after a day or two I was so fed up with the message, that I went through my entire inbox. And on page 8.439 (or something like that) I found indeed a 'new' (i.e. unread) message LJ had just delivered about 2½ years after it was written. So my guess is even though you didn't receive a recently new message, you might've received one from ages ago and that's the one that keeps being flagged as 'new' in your inbox.

AOS - it's a very sloooooooooow burn with this show. I kinda liked ep 1, wasn't overly intrigued by 2 and 3 but liked 4. So I'll stick around some more but I hope the show'll pick up some pace (and interesting characters/character developments) soon. Apart from Coulson none of the other protagonists is of real interest to me at this point. :/

2½ years! That's a horror story. I hope it wasn't something really important, or anything that absolutely crushed the person that you didn't respond. Because then it would also be kind of tragic and pathetic.

Gladly it wasn't something really important, if I remember correctly it was part of a series of PMs I'd exchanged with someone, so there was constant contact and we probably didn't even realise that one part of our conversation was missing at the time. :)

Yes, I agree with you on all points about AOS! The only reason I've stuck around this long, or started watching to begin with, is because of Coulson, but even that might not be enough of a draw if they don't start doing more interesting things soon.

We only got episode 1 of AOS in before baseball playoffs started up so I am woefully behind. That might be a good thing as my interest is still piqued.

Very nice bouncy adelagia-type of song, but what's with the downer ending on that music video?

It reminds me about a cranky old woman I met in Mexico once who spent the morning griping because the hotel had been visited late the previous night by a troupe of musicians singing a traditional serenade under some lucky lady's window (probably miffed because it wasn't her.)
