Remember how I was slightly iffy on Mr. Robot a few weeks ago? Well, I changed my mind. I'm recommending the crap out of it. You should all definitely watch it, and, as I told sarea_okelani, sooner rather than later, because you do not want to be accidentally spoiled for the twists that happen in the back half of the episodes. There are two more to go before the season wraps up (ten episodes in all; not a huge commitment), and it's already been greenlit for a second. Super, super strong writing, and when it doesn't seem like it, there's a reason. Watching Rami Malek go about his business is a seized-by-your-lungs pleasure; he's phenomenal playing the brilliant and brittle lead. All the awards!

I've watched the pilot!

When Rami first came on screen I was like, who IS that, he looks so familiar... and I realized he was in Need for Speed. Ha! Or at least, that's what I know him from. Possibly also Night at the Museum, both of which are quite different from Mr. Robot, lol.

Haha, I only knew Rami Malek from Night at the Museum. I guess people also really loved him in The Pacific, which I may have to watch at some point.

Wow, he was in The Pacific? I'm a huuuuuuuuuuuuuuge fan of Band of Brothers so I was really excited about The Pacific. But the pilot... parts of it were so hard to watch that I couldn't go on, and very few things affect me that way. I think it might be because the "antagonists" are Asian, and I find myself both despising and empathizing with them, while finding it harder to take the side of the "heroes"... I don't know, it's really weird. But whereas Band of Brothers might be my favorite series of all time, I haven't yet been able to go beyond the pilot of The Pacific.

If you do want to watch it though, let me know, I'll lend you my DVDs.

Oh and re Mr. Robot, both Jade and I like it so far, though I'm a little meh about the female characters so far, and I don't think I know what's going on 80% of the time.

i watched the first episode last night and loved it. Rami Malek is fantastic and his character is fascinating, if you hadn't mentioned the show in an earlier post i would have missed it entirely, so thank you!

Huzzah! How exciting! The pilot is so strong right out of the gate, isn't it? Usually you have to sit through all the exposition and broad strokes with pilots, but this one was so solid.

Tbh, I thought the next few episodes (maybe about 2-4) didn't quite live up to the pilot, but sticking with it was totally worth it for the latter half of the season.
