Hmm. Fringe doesn't do missteps, right? Is it safe to just assume there's some bigger plan for the future that makes this latest episode not a complete waste of time? Also, is it my faulty memory again, or wasn't Olivia supposed to be really little during the cortexiphan trials and therefore unable to clearly remember what went on, hence her surprise and disgust in S1/2 upon finding out her connection to Walter? Young!Olivia looked quite old enough to be able to remember all that stuff. I mean, a) causing a fire, b) crossing over to another universe, c) the event/person that stopped her stepfather hitting her? That's the sort of thing you'd probably remember, right? Did I conveniently forget something from S1/2 where it was said that the children were all given some kind of memory-altering pill?

I did think it was cute that young!Nick Lane looked quite like the adult Nick Lane. It's a shame he died, really... I liked him; he was sweet. Maybe if we ever get an answer to why Lincoln recognized him at the end of S2 we'll see him again...

Yeah, I may be remembering wrong, but I thought Olivia was supposed to have been four or five when the trials went on. I get why the love/fear thing will be important but I'm not sure about dedicating a whole episode to it... Hmm.
