Okay, so Steve Thompson has redeemed himself somewhat for the oozing pile of crap last year that was The Blind Banker. Sherlock 2x03 -- LOVED IT.

Other spoilery but not very coherent thoughts:

- Martin Freeman must get ALL THE AWARDS. I knew it was coming, and I knew it wasn't Sherlock's real end, and John still made me cry anyway. So beautifully understated and repressed. *SNIFF*
- The fake suicide. BUT HOW? Obviously it has something to do with Molly, BUT WHAT? Argh, I'm so not smart enough to figure it out. I mean, it was in public and stuff! At least in the book (as far as my spotty memory recalls) Holmes' death was inferred and not actually witnessed by Watson, right?
- Is Moriarty actually dead? For serious? D: Well, it's good for Sherlock, I guess, not to have a mad genius criminal out to get him, but I really love how Andrew Scott's played him.

Why is S2 already over? Can S3 just start next week please?

Watson's most touching moment was the opening, imo. Sp sad for him. Couldn't even put it into words...

Loved it to bits, and I was left with the same question as you, how on earth? Okay, John didn't see everything because he face planted onto the tarmac, but I saw one Holmes, one dive off the roof, one Holmes corpse. And yep I think in the book --it's been years-- Watson saw Moriarty and Holmes struggle and go over the cliff and fall into the Reichenbac falls, so he didn't see everything. (And how do you fool a doc?)

I hope Moriarty isn't as dead as he seems because Sherlock defo needs his nemesis.

I'm going to have to watch the end again and see if there are any clues at all as to how Sherlock pulled it off. How awesomely baffling. Like you said, John must have missed something when he was knocked over!

The audience below probably have something to do with it. Sherlock could have jumped and landed on something soft (he distracted John and made him stand further back where he couldn't see). Molly helps with the autopsy - and perhaps supplied a cadaver too. xD

I read speculation that the audience below might've been all part of Sherlock's homeless network... But then, to have that many people involved in the trick, wouldn't SOMEBODY blab?

I don't think so. And I DEFINITELY think it was one of his homeless network that knocked John over at the crucial moment. Still, to play dead like that in the face of John's utter anguish... I could almost hate Sherlock for it, if I didn't understand that he was doing it all for John.

Classes are cancelled! :D Surprisingly they even announced it before morning. I shall stay home all day and pretend to be productive but really do nothing at all! Hurrah!

Yay for UW not being stupid about this! I hope you're enjoying the snow and doing NOTHING PRODUCTIVE! I know that that's how I'm spending the day. So I've seen all of YB and was so enamored of the leading guy (Jang Geun Suk) that I zoomed onto his next drama, Mary Stayed Out All Night, which I loved even more than YB. In fact it was so good that after finishing it, I immediately started watching it all over again! I'm on ep 10 of 16 on my rewatch. Not sure what will be after that - am open to suggestions!

Ooh, I'll have to check out Mary Stayed Out All Night! Even better than YB, you say? Intriguing! You're also watching City Hunter now, right? Or plan to? Because that would be my next suggestion :) I loved that one.

Not watching City Hunter yet (still on my Mary Stayed Out rewatch) but I trust your judgement, so I'll put City Hunter on my internal queue for next! Though when I watch it I hope I don't go into withdrawal from not staring at Jang Geun Suk's unusual looks constantly... we'll see. Srsly I'm old enough to be that guy's mother, yet I find him totally hot - a bit like a cross of young Tom Felton plus Prince. You were so right when you said his looks are completely transformed when he smiles. I was saying to Sarea I almost want to take up sketching just to analyze his unique combination of features! Arrgh I'm so ridiculous.

Thanks so much for your suggestions and your evil influence on my free time! City Hunter sounds interesting and intense. Very different from the rather light/comic tone of YB (and Mary Stayed Out...), yes?

Hey - I've discovered something interesting - I think I prefer the subtitling on YouTube to that on Hulu (at least for Mary Stayed Out All Night). I was rooting around for outtake scenes, and the translated subtitles on YouTube seem much more complete and less clunky (for lack of a better word).

Yes, City Hunter is much different; it's more of an action-thriller, cat-and-mouse type thing than a straight love story.

I'm such a sucker for a pure romance, though I do also love a good thriller / epic tragedy, which sounds like what CH may be... looking forward to it, whenever I get to it!

If you look for "Mary Stayed Out All Night" on YouTube it's also there as "Marry Me Mary" - an alternate title/translation (& a better title, imo).

JGS's face = kills me. Srsly, I do feel a bit absurd. But can't resist the beauty...! Plus there's an awesome video of him 'shuffling' to Party Rock with LMFAO in the Seoul Airport. So awesome. Gah.
