Stranger things have happened

ANNA TORV, YOU ARE FANTASTIC. Let's just give her all of the awards right now. We'll rename the Emmys after her. No, we'll just dismantle the whole awards system after she wins every available trophy in existence because she is SO GOOD and everything will be meaningless after the Anna Torv Era.
(She's amazing, you guys.)
Okay, so our!Lincoln's appearance wasn't as exciting as it could've been, coming in basically as a pretty straight-laced outside consultant, but there's no way he's just a one-shot deal. Olivia hasn't even had a chance to recognize him and freak out accordingly...
If -- HEAVEN FORBID -- we lose the alt!team forever after this season, maybe our!Lincoln can come on the team as a permanent member? Please? I just love his face so much. And his BAMF-ness. (Admittedly our!Lincoln is less BAMF than alt!Lincoln BUT I WILL TAKE WHAT LINCOLN I CAN GET.) Also he and Peter seem to get along really nicely.
PREVIEWS FOR NEXT WEEK OMG.
(MORE LINCOLN!)
(I have a one-track mind, yes.)

on 2011-03-19 06:24 am (UTC)I about died at poor Astrid being sexually harassed by Bellivia. And at Walter being all, "Not in my cow, no." But then giggling with Bellivia about assigning Astrid to milking duty. Pervy old men. *snicker*
I love how Anna Torv is getting a chance to shine with all the alternate personalities swirling around. Her Spock voice is kind of hysterical, but I love it. I kind of miss our regular dour little lemonface, though.

on 2011-03-19 05:04 pm (UTC)I was amused by the way Lincoln was all, "I know this sounds crazy, but..." and all the Fringe crew were like, "Honey, you have a long way to go before you approach anything we think is even mildly disordered."

Lincoln: "... No, they haven't."

on 2011-03-19 03:39 pm (UTC)Admittedly, the beginning of season 1 is a bit on the slow side, but this show is SO WORTH IT. Seriously. It's basically everything that Merlin could never hope to be. The writing is phenomenal, the stories are great, the character development is amazing, the relationship development (between everyone) is absolutely fantastic and just woven so nicely into every episode without taking away from anything. There is consistency and continuity and clear thought given to what they're writing, AND... We have a canon alternate universe!! How awesome is that? :D
This show isn't for everyone, of course, but I think it's bloody brilliant and I would stand here and rave about it for hours to anyone, because it does practically everything RIGHT. At least for the first 3 seasons it has! I have never once regretted watching this show :D
/end sales pitch ;)

on 2011-03-19 05:13 pm (UTC)I think S1 doesn't really find its footing until the latter half; it starts out very X-Filesy with a kind of monster-of-the-week thing, but towards the back end it develops a clearer voice and really gets into telling stories about its own 'verse.
In S2 it hits its stride, and S3 is where it gets downright phenomenal.

on 2011-03-19 03:35 pm (UTC)Also, I thought it was hilarious how Bell-livia was all hitting on Astrid the whole time. HA HA HA, epic! ;) And how Walter was sort of on board and teasing him about it! Too cute ;)
Anyway, I agree that our Lincoln isn't quite as exciting, or as much as a smoking hot BAMF as alt!Lincoln (whom I still privately refer to as just "Lincoln"; the regular Lincoln is now deemed "our!Lincoln", but anyway...), but he definitely has potential. I also think that they're setting things up so that Lincoln can come back. He seemed to fit into the team nicely, and I loved how he and Peter got along.
But I also agree that I will take ANY Lincoln, even if I prefer the alt one to ours at the moment.
GUH... NEXT WEEEEEK!!!!! BAMF LINCOLN. THINGS HAPPENING TO OLIVIA. I ASSUME CHARLIE IS SOMEWHERE IN THE MIX. OMG I LOVE THIS SHOW SFM \o/

on 2011-03-19 05:26 pm (UTC)Walter and Bellivia were so cute, hee. (Poor Astrid!)
Yeah, when our!Lincoln comes back (AND HE WILL) he can show us how much of a BAMF he is; I'm sure he has it in him, considering alt!Lincoln. :) I thought he and Peter had a nice relationship there; I could totally see them becoming crime-solving buddies, hee.
I am already making incoherent noises at how much next week is going to rock. Eeeeeee.
